Core Hunting Safety Principles

Hunter Preparation & Education

  • Complete and carry proof of Missouri hunter education certification

  • Understand season rules, legal methods, and land access permissions

  • Arrive prepared for weather, terrain, and low-visibility conditions

Firearm & Field Safety

  • Always identify your target and what lies beyond before shooting

  • Keep firearms pointed in a safe direction and finger off the trigger until ready

  • Follow all guide instructions and maintain situational awareness

  • Wear appropriate visibility gear when moving through the field

Night Hunting Safety

  • Night hunts involve reduced visibility and increased risk

  • Thermal, infrared (IR), and night vision equipment must be used responsibly and only as instructed

  • Hunters must remain aware of terrain, obstacles, vehicles, and other hunters at all times

Missouri Hunting Regulations

All guided hunts with Coyote Reaper Outdoorz are conducted in accordance with Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) hunting regulations. Hunters are required to review and comply with all current rules, including legal hunting methods, seasons, and equipment restrictions.

Coyotes in Missouri may be hunted year-round, but special rules apply during certain firearms seasons and when using electronic calls, night vision, thermal, or infrared (IR) equipment.

Hunters are responsible for staying up to date on regulation changes before each hunt.

Required Licenses & Permits in Missouri

All hunters participating in guided coyote hunts in Missouri must possess the appropriate Missouri hunting permits and licenses prior to the hunt. Licenses must be valid and carried while hunting.

Depending on residency and circumstances, required permits may include:

  • Missouri Small Game Hunting Permit

  • Nonresident Furbearer Hunting Permit

  • Apprentice Hunter Permit (mentor required)

Most hunters are also required to complete Missouri Hunter Education certification before purchasing hunting permits.
